The United States came off the gold standard in 1971.  Since then, we have used “modern money” which offers substantial new options.  Most people are unaware how modern money policies can allow for a full-employment economy, with the bulk of the new employment in green jobs.  These policies can allow for greater access to higher education, better pensions, and universal health care.  These programs are surprisingly affordable using modern money.
Randy Mandell works on a Modern Money program with 350.org and with One Sustainable Planet.  He also worked as an opponent of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) for many years.
